Cemetery Preservation Workshop: October 5, 2019
The 2019 Arkansas Historic Preservation Program Fall Cemetery Preservation workshop will be held at the Green Grove-Love Rest Cemetery in Stuttgart, Arkansas on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
James “Rusty” Brenner of Cemetery Preservation Supply LLC (on Facebook here) and Texas Cemetery Restoration LLC (on Facebook here) will lead the hands-on workshop and cover topics including cleaning, repairing, resetting, and leveling gravestones as well as information on suitable cleaning products and preservation techniques.

The program itinerary includes:
- 9:00 a.m. – introductions and workshop overview; cleaning, leveling and basic repairs.
- Noon – lunch on grounds
- 1:00 p.m. – continuing with leveling, cleaning and basic repairs.
- 4:00 p.m. – questions
Participants are encouraged to bring a stool, knee pads, gloves and hats.

Granite stones. I wet the stone with clear water. Then I spray the stone with diluted Dawn and water, and let it sit a few min. I then gently brush the stone with a vegetable fiber brush. Then rinse with clear water. Most of gravestone soil in Memphis is mold, trees sap, or atmospheric dirt. Thanks, hope to see you at workshop.
